Developmental editing involves evaluating how well everything hangs together across the whole of a text to help the author deliver their message as clearly and effectively as possible. In fiction, the focus is on narrative craft and style or ‘voice’, ensuring cohesion across these in draft texts. This course is suitable for editors who are interested in introducing fiction developmental editing to their services. Weekly sessions will take place from 1pm to 3pm BST.

This course aims to give an introduction to the process of developmentally editing non-fiction, and is designed for professionals with existing knowledge and experience of copyediting. It is suitable for experienced editors who wish to expand their skillset into developmental editing. Weekly sessions will take place from 2pm to 4pm BST.

This virtual learning course is ideal for you if you're thinking about a career in proofreading, you've been working as a proofreader for a while but without any formal training, or your job involves some proofreading and you would like to understand this part of your role better. Weekly sessions will take place from 10.00am to 12.30pm BST/GMT.

This course is designed for experienced editors who want to add fantasy to their existing repertoire or for newly qualified editors who want to edit fantasy or specialise in fantasy fiction. It will also be of interest to editors specialising in other speculative genres and to romance editors who wish to work with romantasy. This course is for you if you're thinking about a career in copyediting, if you've been working as an editor for a while but without any formal training, or if you'd like to find out about how to move from proofreading to copyediting. Weekly sessions will take place from 10am to 12pm GMT.

This course is designed for experienced editors who want to add romance to their existing repertoire or newly qualified editors who either want to specialise in romance or want to generalise and include romance.
