During the session, Katherine will outline acceptable copyediting productivity rates, illustrate how to measure your productivity, and provide her top 10 tips for increasing your productivity.

Defining your success, understanding your worth, wearing all the hats — waking up at 3 am and asking the darkness, What on earth have I done? This session is for editors who have been in business for a couple of years or are thinking of making the leap from regular employment. Join us on Thursday 2 October from 2.00 to 3.00pm BST for a webinar and guided discussion delivered by editor and book coach, Ruth Bullivant.

If you’re an editor who regularly uses the Chicago Manual of Style in their work, you will probably be aware of the new edition of this classic manual, which was released last September. This edition contains a few important departures from previous editions that have implications for copyeditors and proofreaders, which this webinar intends to cover. Join us on Tuesday 7 October from 2pm to 3pm BST to hear from academic copyeditor and self-declared Chicago fan Marieke Krijnen to learn what to look out for in the new edition!

This course is for you if you're thinking about a career in copyediting, if you've been working as an editor for a while but without any formal training, or if you'd like to find out about how to move from proofreading to copyediting. Weekly sessions will take place from 1.30 to 3.30pm (BST/GMT).

This course is designed for fiction editors who are looking to diversify their existing services and offer coaching to authors and clients. Delivered over four live, weekly sessions, the course aims to help you understand what coaching is, how you can adapt approaches to coaching to suit your way of working, and how you can introduce coaching for fiction authors to your services. Weekly sessions will take place from 2.30-4pm BST from Wednesday 8 to Wednesday 22 October and 2.30-4pm GMT on Wednesday 29 October.

Developmental editing involves evaluating how well everything hangs together across the whole of a text to help the author deliver their message as clearly and effectively as possible. In fiction, the focus is on narrative craft and style or ‘voice’, ensuring cohesion across these in draft texts. This course is suitable for editors who are interested in introducing fiction developmental editing to their services. Weekly sessions will take place from 2.00 to 4.00pm (BST/GMT).

This virtual learning course, delivered over four live webinars, including opportunities for delegates to learn from both their tutor and their peers, explores best practices which can be applied to editing to ensure professionals are able to produce the best possible publication in the time available to them. Weekly sessions will take place from 3.00 to 5.00pm (BST/GMT).
