Annual general meeting

The primary business of the annual general meeting (AGM) is to elect the Council of the CIEP, to approve the annual report and accounts, and to conduct any other business of which notice has been given.

AGM 2025

This year’s AGM will be held on 6 November 2025. It will take place online from 1pm GMT.

You’ll find preliminary information about the meeting and how to participate in the sections below.

Further details about the AGM, including the agenda, joining instructions and details of how the voting works, will be added nearer the time. You’ll also be able to request a full set of AGM papers as a zipped file once they are available.

Supporting documents

The standing orders set out how the meeting is run.

Asking questions about the annual and financial reports

You don’t have to attend the AGM to ask a question about the Institute’s most recent annual and financial reports. If you’d like to submit a question in advance, then please email the chair ([email protected]). The advance questions and responses will be published before the meeting.

Deadline for submission of advance questions about the annual and financial reports: 9 October 2025, 5pm BST

Member resolutions

Voting Members have the opportunity to submit resolutions for consideration at the AGM. A resolution is a formal proposal put forward by a member about something they think the Institute should do, change or consider. At the AGM, members can discuss it and vote on whether they agree or not.

To submit a resolution, please complete the form and return to the chair ([email protected]) before the deadline. We’ve put together some guidance to help you when considering a resolution.7

Deadline for submission of resolutions: 11 September 2025, 5pm BST

Elections to the Council

The CIEP Council is the team of elected Professional and Advanced Professional Members responsible for the Institute’s governance and strategy. They serve for a two-year term and can stand again at the end of that term up to three times.

This year there are three vacancies. Denise Cowle has served the maximum term allowed and her time on the Council has come to an end. John Ingamells and Abi Saffrey have completed the two-year terms that they were elected to stand for.

If you’d like to put yourself forward as a candidate, you’ll need to complete a nomination form and prepare a statement explaining why you’re standing for the Council. We've prepared a role description and guidance on 'Becoming a Council Member' to help you better understand the role.

You’ll need to be nominated by a proposer and a seconder, who must also be Professional or Advanced Professional Members.

Deadline for submission of nominations: 11 September 2025, 5pm BST
