About Jenny

I am an experienced proofreader and copywriter, having freelanced for business clientsmarketing teams, design and communications agencies and schools since 2014.

My marketing background includes senior roles in retail, manufacturing and a design agency. I use my industry experience and project management skills to be helpful and flexible for my clients, working hard to accommodate changing deadlines as required.

I proofread designed materials in PDF (using Adobe Reader) and make sure my suggestions for change or queries are clear and concise. I also edit/proofread content at Word stage using track changes and comments.

Types of materials I proofread

  • Case studies

  • Apprenticeships and training, education (school communications), flooring, learning & development (change and culture programmes, high-performing teams, leadership), pawnbroking, recruitment & assessment, tableware, talent acquisition and talent development.

Volunteering

I am lucky to volunteer as a fosterer for Guide Dogs by providing a loving home for a dog in training.

Through volunteering for this amazing charity, I have developed a growing interest in dog welfare, training and behaviour and would welcome the opportunity to proofread content in this field.

Kind words from clients

Anna Stevenson, Head of Marketing and Communications at Norwich School

Jenny is, quite simply, a joy to work with. We have engaged Jenny’s proofreading expertise for many years for a number of our annual publications and we would definitely not wish to go to print without knowing she has reviewed the document for accuracy and consistency.

Jenny’s attention to detail is second to none and we are particularly impressed with her commitment to understanding our publications and to learning and embracing our brand guidelines, to ensure they are applied throughout our publications.

Furthermore, Jenny is a joy to work with – unfailingly polite and flexible when it comes to our often fluid deadlines and timescales!

Mary Appleton, former Director and Editor in Chief, Changeboard (now Future Talent Learning), now Director at Applewick Creative

Jenny has worked with us for a couple of years on a range of publications including magazines, client projects and various ad-hoc research reports – all with different requirements. Jenny is a consummate professional and understands the magazine production process thoroughly.

She is efficient, flexible and I trust her judgement 100%. I feel very lucky to have her as an extended part of my team – her work is invaluable!

Lynsey Goode, Brand and Collateral Manager at Amtico

I went through the brochure over the weekend and just want to say thank you so much.

You really are worth your weight in gold!
