Writing, copy-editing and proofreading for private individuals, businesses and fiction authors.
If you’re looking for someone to help you articulate your ideas as effectively as possible in writing, I’d be delighted to hear from you. I will ensure your writing is clear, credible and compelling, whether your document needs a quick polish or a full restructure.
My work
With an academic background in literature and languages, and a professional specialism in financial services and business writing, I enjoy writing and editing a wide range of documents, from short stories and novels to complex reports and marketing material.
My business
I’ve run a successful consultancy since 2011, and my business is founded on the simple aim of being as helpful as possible. I’m friendly, approachable, diplomatic and professional, and I will respect your voice, style and ideas.
From catching typos to delving in and helping you sort out the ideas and content, nothing makes me happier than taking tricky text and turning it into effective (and affective) writing.

testimonials
“I would heartily recommend Hannah as a fiction editor. She is an excellent editor with a keen eye for detail, whose thoughtful comments and feedback have helped me with my writing on many occasions. Her skills in editing texts at the macro-level are particularly impressive and her comments on my work, in terms of plotting, character development and theme, have helped me immeasurably. She remains a trusted commentator on my creative work.”
Cat Schaupp, Writer (MA Hons English, MSc Creative Writing, PhD English Literature candidate)
“Hannah is a joy to work with in personal terms: bright, friendly and mature. She has worked conscientiously and effectively with me for 8 years now. The clients Hannah had to deal with were wealthy business owners, successful entrepreneurs, board directors and so on. These were people with exacting standards who would not tolerate any lapse of professionalism. They were always very satisfied with the materials Hannah produced. She is highly intelligent, professional, creative and talented, a truly professional writer and editor, and she has my highest recommendation.”
Sarah Hughes, Senior Partner, St. James’s Place Wealth Management
“Having known Hannah professionally and personally for many years, I had no hesitation in engaging her for my editing requirements when working on my website, LinkedIn and client newsletter recently. She has a unique way with words which, when combined with her immaculate grammar, gives me utter confidence in my written communications to clients.”
Gemma Wood, Financial Adviser, Melville Wealth Management
“Hannah has a unique ability to clarify your thoughts in writing, to capture the very essence of the ideas you wish to communicate to your audience. Hannah gets the message across in a clear, concise and punchy fashion. She comes highly recommended and I am sure will be able to help you in a very friendly and professional manner to solve your communication needs.”
David Keddie, Chartered Financial Planner, David Keddie Wealth Management Ltd
“Hannah is an absolute pleasure to work with – she is extremely efficient and organised, and nothing is too much trouble.”
