A proofreader with over 20 years' experience in business to business marketing, I proofread non-fiction books, coffee table books, websites, technical manuals and company reports.
I currently work for a marketing agency proofreading company reports, and for publishers proofreading coffee table-style books and Christian living and devotional books. I also have experience working with companies in the manufacturing and service industries on their corporate communications. The projects for Cambridge University Press (Corpus) and the British Standards Institute both required a unique type of proofreading work with a very strict set of guidelines.

Stacey was great to work with – not only was she quick at responding to our needs, but the work she returned was always to a high standard. The project she worked on for us involved adhering to very strict transcription conventions which Stacey managed to grasp straight away with very little extra help. Just what you want in a freelancer! I’d definitely recommend her; we’ll be keeping in touch with Stacey when other proofreading projects come up.
Olivia Goodman, Language Research Co-ordinator, Cambridge University Press
Stacey provides an excellent proofreading service – you rarely get accuracy with speed, but Stacey delivered both. In addition, she does more than find typos but looked at our grammar, syntax and consistency of tone and language. I would thoroughly recommend her.

Stacey John has proofread for us on a number of occasions. She has a good eye for detail, layout, fonts etc and has often found inconsistencies and things which didn’t make sense. She is able to pick up errors in both English and American spelling and punctuation. One of her tasks has been to check Scripture references and citations which she has done well.
Irene Roberts, Editorial Assistant, Christian Focus Publications
Stacey John has been professional and reliable to work with. The projects she has completed for BSI have not only been value for money but of high quality. I would strongly recommend her as an efficient and diligent freelancer.
Neelam Ahmad, Lead Production Controller, BSI Group
Stacey took on a complex project with a difficult brief. We were preparing to launch a highly technical new product, requiring thorough proofreading and several rounds of analysis and feedback.
Even though it was an unusual content set, she worked diligently and communicated well to deliver high-quality work. I look forward to working with Stacey on more projects in the future.
