I offer proofreading and light editing services to help businesses and individuals communicate professionally and effectively.
I specialise in proofreading marketing material, reports, presentations, bid documents, magazine articles, newsletters, website content, business plans, business guides and other business-related material.
My services can be tailored to your needs, from a simple proofread for spelling and grammar mistakes to a more editorial approach concerned with readability, clarity, consistency and writing style, leaving you with a polished piece that will enhance your business credibility.
I trained as a proofreader with the Publishing Training Centre (PTC) and am now a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP).
Before starting my proofreading business, I spent 18 years as a chartered surveyor at a number of international property consultancies, specialising in regeneration and development. In recent years, my work was focused on managing, writing, editing and proofreading bids for public sector, property-related contracts.
I appreciate the need for confidentiality and the importance of delivering high quality outputs within strict deadlines. I have a professional and flexible approach to each and every job.
I would be delighted to discuss your proofreading requirements, so please feel free to get in touch.

Testimonials
Absolutely superb proofreader who always spots the mistakes, ensures consistency and keeps documents flowing. I really value proofreading and copy editing when it ensures the tone of voice is maintained throughout a document, it is priceless for clients and is where Sarah really excels.
Basil Riley, Robot Mascot
I have been working with Sarah for two years, having found her through the CIEP website. I needed a specific proofreader for some detailed products I was working on. Sarah replied to my enquiry in a speedy manner and understood exactly what I needed from the start. She is always easy to work with, takes time to fully understand what is required of her, and keeps me reguarly updated with her progress. She is very efficient and never goes past her deadlines. I know I can rely on her to do what is required. I would absolutely recommend Sarah for any proofreading work. It is a pleasure working with her.
Stacey Griffin, Pyramid International
Working with Sarah was brilliant! With her support on our award submission, we won Developer of the Year, so thank you for your help and for fitting us in last minute … you didn't miss a thing. It's much appreciated.
Joe Luk, Capital&Centric
Sarah has been working with the Forum for a number of years now and her skills and expertise have been invaluable to us. She works on a number of our guides and documents and provides a very professional service which we have come to rely on.
Ian Cass, Forum of Private Business
Along with being extremely proficient, Sarah is also very efficient, which makes for a prompt and effective service. Through Regeneration Brainery and Capital&Centric, I have worked with Sarah for a number of years and she always goes the extra mile to help out. I am always impressed with her ability to see beyond the words, which makes for a much better script and, as such, I gladly recommend Love Lane Proofreading.
Judi Greenwood, Regeneration Brainery
Professional with quick lead-times and, most importantly, lovely to work with. Highly recommend.
Rebecca Wainwright, Explorer Marketing

James Power, Catena Magazine
Sarah delivered an excellent piece of proofreading work for me. I'd asked for a review of my draft website and Sarah gave a thorough analysis of the text and make-up of the language. What I particularly liked was the detail Sarah went into and the subsequent feedback and instruction to make the necessary amendments. It was brilliant and made my life so much easier! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Sarah's proofreading services.
Rob Hemsley, Hemsley Ltd
Sarah helped me with the copy for my website. She is an excellent proofreader. She doesn't just pick out the usual spelling and grammar mistakes but she offers recommendations too on how your content can be rewritten to have more impact. She is thorough, goes above and beyond and, what's more, she is a lovely person and such a pleasure to work with. Thank you Sarah!
Tanya Sturges, The Self-Sabotage Coach
Sarah is fantastic! Even when the deadlines are unachievable she is always ready to save the day with a smile. Don't hesitate to use her!
