Sarah Freshwater |
Proofreader of non-fiction (humanities and social sciences) and fiction.
I work with a wide range of clients including publishers (both large and small, independent houses), businesses, charitable organisations and students.
Previously, I had a 27-year career in banking where I specialised in the fields of regulation, compliance and anti-money laundering, and worked in a highly pressurised environment to tight deadlines. I was involved in the drafting, editing and proofreading of enhanced due diligence reports, policies, procedures, manuals, and various forms of banking documentation. This background, together with my well-organised, meticulous and methodical nature, means my clients can be assured of a reliable and high-quality service.
Please see my website for further information or contact me to discuss your project.

Testimonials
Sarah recently assisted me by proofreading the sequel to a fictional London saga, written by a previously print-published author who decided to self-publish her latest novel. I was very impressed with Sarah's turnaround time, her proofreading skills, and her professional and courteous manner. I would be happy to have Sarah help me on future projects, and would certainly recommend her as a proficient and efficient proofreader.
Sue Shade, Freelance Copy-editor and Proofreader
I recommend highly Sarah's skills and professionalism as a proofreader. Her work is of exceptional quality and she has an impressive eye for detail and consistency. Sarah is always able to deliver the various articles, as well as the final magazine, promptly in order to meet very tight deadlines. Her instructions and amendments are clear and detailed, and she is sensitive to the voice of the contributing authors when making any light edits that may be required.Chris Reynolds, Editor, 'Roundthreads', magazine of the London Fire Brigade Retired Members Association
