Background
I am a UK-based copyeditor with 12 years' experience, specialising in law and fiction. In a past life I was a lawyer, so I'm comfortable with legalese, and fiction editing (in most genres) provides a welcome variety! I love to write and have had three books published by mainstream publishers. A fourth book is in the pipeline.
Specialties
• Copyediting for publishers of law books
• Editing of literary and commercial fiction
Testimonials (more on my website)
"Mike has everything I want from an editor and proofreader: varied experience, industry sector knowledge, sound technical skills, tenacity, an unwavering eye for detail, and an unswerving ability to knock even the most challenging text into great shape. He is a joy to work with."
Lauren Simpson, Managing Editor, Globe Law and Business
"I enjoy working with Mike. He is enthusiastic and supportive of my writing, and it is obvious he scrutinises every line of my text. The resulting polish to the prose makes the whole story flow much more smoothly. When he proposes revisions to the text, these still keep my author voice."
GD Harper, author, A Friend in Deed, Silent Money, Love's Long Road, The Maids of Biddenden
