About Louise
I’m Louise Holtby, a UK-based freelance copyeditor and proofreader serving clients across the globe.
I trained in proofreading and copyediting through the CIEP, passing Proofreading 3 with distinction and Copyediting 3 with merit. I attained A levels in English, French and Spanish before going on to earn a first-class BA Honours degree in Business and Management.
My portfolio includes fiction editing for independent authors and for publishing houses, and proof-editing theses in humanities, arts and social sciences, for PhD students. My background in local government administration and project management saw me write, edit and format strategic content across the organisation before taking up the career of full-time freelance editor.
