I have been copy-editing and proofreading various forms of non-fiction since 2006. I mostly work on academic texts (monographs, articles, collected essays), in subjects covering the humanities and social sciences. I work both in English and in French (I am a native speaker of both). I previously worked in the education and assessment sector (Cambridge Assessment), and also spent 12 years project-managing the production of multivolume encyclopedias for Wiley Blackwell.
I copy-edit the academic series Oxford University Studies in the Enlightenment (formerly Studies on Voltaire and the Eighteenth Century, published by the Voltaire Foundation / Liverpool University Press). Having worked on volumes of the Oxford critical edition of Voltaire’s complete works (OCV) for many years, I am now involved in the Digital Enlightenment project (Voltaire Foundation). I am also an editorial supplier for the Department for Education. I have worked on York Notes study guides, and with teachers of mindfulness and meditation writing for Windhorse Publications and Wisdom Publications.
I cover most subject areas within the humanities and social sciences, and am experienced in applying a range of editorial styles, from APA, MLA and Chicago style to publishers’ bespoke house styles. I have a keen eye for detail, and enjoy working collaboratively with authors in order to help their writing to shine.
