Northern Ireland
Hello! I'm an editor and proofreader with a decade and a half of experience and a lifelong preoccupation with the written word. Before taking the plunge into freelance life, I spent eight years in-house as sub editor at a global women's media organisation whose remit spans astrology, personal finance, reproductive health, feminism, fashion, beauty and more. I have also worked on staff at a newswire, for one of Europe's leading voices on research policy, politics and funding, and at a translation agency, which is where I cut my teeth as a proofreader. My academic background is in comparative literature and translation theory and practice — ask me nicely and I might just show you my master's dissertation: a translation of an extremely obscure (don't call it unreadable!) French poetry collection.
When I'm not editing, you can find me writing for various media outlets, covering parenting, popular culture and women's lifestyle. Check out some of my recent work here and here.
I provide a variety of editorial services from light proofreading to in-depth copy and structural editing for publication in print and online. Drop me a line at [email protected] to discuss how I can accommodate your requirements.
