Using Macros in Word Part 1: Recorded macros (Mac version) (e-learning)
This course is a brief introduction to macros: tools that can be added to Microsoft Word to help increase efficiency. It is ideal for anyone who already uses Microsoft Word for editing and proofreading and is interested in finding out how macros can help them to work more effectively. It is also suitable for those who already use macros a little but would like to fill in any gaps in their knowledge.

What the course will teach you
By the end of this course you will know:
- what macros are and why editors use them
- how to record two simple macros
- how to examine the computer code of the two recorded macros
- the required structure of a macro
- how to edit the code of two recorded macros
- how to assign keyboard shortcuts (keystrokes) to macros

- the main course video, providing demonstrations of how to set up various Macros in Word
- supporting documents and downloadable videos
- an exercise to complete.
What skills and tools do you need?
- Some existing knowledge or experience of using Macros in Word may be beneficial but is not a requriement.
- Students will need access to Microsoft Word (Office 365) in order to complete the course.
