Webinar: Demystifying self-publishing
Webinar: Demystifying self-publishing
The publishing industry has changed. Self-publishing (also known as indie publishing) is an important part of the landscape for all writers. But what does it involve, and what do editors need to know in order to support their authors in the best way?
In this one-hour webinar, Anna will explore:
- Different types of ‘self-publishing’, including hybrid, independent, partnership and Substack, and how they differ from ‘traditional’ publishing.
- Pros and cons of the self-publishing route for authors and editors.
- The self-publishing workflow: key stages and tools.
- Common editorial challenges for editors and new indie authors.
This webinar will be particularly helpful for anyone who has an understanding of traditional publishing but is new to the indie sphere. It will also be useful for indie authors who are wondering what editorial services to hire and what they can and should expect from working with an editor.
The webinar will be recorded and the recording will be available on the On demand page of the CIEP website. Bookings will close at 1pm BST on 31 March.
CIEP webinars are free for members. Non-members can attend for a fee of £20 + VAT. If you’re not currently a member, you’ll need to register for a free account on the CIEP website. Click the ‘Book now’ button to begin the booking process, then select ‘Register’ on the log-in page.
