Webinar: Cookery Editing
Webinar: Cookery Editing
If you’re an editor who enjoys cooking and wants to find out how you can combine your two passions, or you’re interested in finding out more about a branch of editing you’ve not previously considered, this webinar is for you. Join us on 14 August from 2.00 to 3.00pm BST to hear from Claire Rogers, editor and proofreader of cookery, health and lifestyle books, as she talks to us about both the joys and the challenges of editing cookbooks. The session will cover:
- What's expected of an editor in terms of cooking knowledge and experience
- How the cookbook publishing process differs from other nonfiction – think photoshoots, food stylist queries, and mid-production edits
- The fundamentals of cookbook editing: from manuscript format to design tags to step-by-step markup
- Expected (and unexpected) challenges, such as working with measurements; missing instructions; writers vs chefs
There’ll also be a Q&A section with plenty of time to answer your questions, which can either be submitted in advance or asked on the day.
The webinar will be recorded and the recording will be made available on the On demand page of the CIEP website. Bookings will close on 14 August at 1pm BST.
