Webinar: AI, Copyright and Editorial Considerations

Webinar: AI, Copyright and Editorial Considerations

Whether we like it or not, artificial intelligence (AI) is having an impact on editorial practice. But what does it mean for copyright, ownership and professional risks and responsibilities?

If you’re experimenting with using AI tools, working with publishers who are developing AI policies, or just want to understand the risks involved, this webinar will help you navigate the questions and concerns emerging across the profession.

During the session, we'll explore:

  • the copyright issues to consider when using AI tools in editorial work
  • how to reduce AI risks and provide transparency
  • when content is used for training AI
  • publisher expectations and AI policies
  • copyright protection when using AI tools
  • different approaches to licensing content to AI companies
  • potential copyright changes.

There'll also be plenty of time to ask your questions during a live Q&A.

The webinar will be recorded and the recording will be available on the On demand page of the CIEP website. Bookings will close at 1pm BST on 23 April.

CIEP webinars are free for members. Non-members can attend for a fee of £20 + VAT. If you’re not currently a member, you’ll need to register for a free account on the CIEP website. Click the ‘Book now’ button to begin the booking process, then select ‘Register’ on the log-in page.
