Based in Northumberland, working with clients throughout the UK and beyond
With nearly 30 years’ experience as an editor and project manager in educational publishing, I work on a wide range of print and multimedia resources for students and teachers. Projects range from primary level up to BTEC and A Level across a variety of subjects.
My role as an editor can include rewriting and development/structural editing, copyediting, proofreading and Alpha and Beta testing of digital products (I work on a Mac).
Project management can include creating and implementing schedules, monitoring budgets, liaising with authors, designers and software developers, illustrators, editors and proofreaders.
I have worked as a mentor, training editors both in the UK and overseas.

Testimonials
Jo is a very experienced, reliable and efficient project manager and editor. I have worked with her on two complex projects to which she brought these qualities and ensured successful delivery. Andrew Campbell, Publisher
Jo is an exceptional project manager and brilliant professional role model for a freelancer; I always value working with her. Jo’s project briefs are clear and rigorous, her advice sensible, her standards demanding but achievable. Jo is always clearheaded, managing to keep tabs on multiple titles, editors, authors, designers and production staff, and providing the vital link back to the publisher. Anna Clark, Freelance editor
