Panel: Working with in-house editorial teams: What freelancers need to know
What do in-house editorial teams really need from freelancers – and how are those expectations changing? This panel brings together experienced editorial professionals to explore how freelancers can work effectively with in-house teams, from understanding workflows and processes, to the skills that in-house teams most value about the freelancers they work with.
We're excited to be joined by Claire Masset, Publisher at National Trust; Phoebe Morgan, Executive Publisher of Commercial Fiction at Simon & Schuster; and Danny Ratnaike, Magazine Editor at Alzheimer’s Society. During the session, our panel will explore:
- what processes and workflows look like in their organisation and how freelance professionals fit into them
- the skills that editorial professionals need to develop to remain future proof
- the working practices that are most valued by in-house teams.
The panel event will be hosted by CIEP marketing and communications manager, Jess Hitner, and facilitated by CIEP Council member, Jennie Seitz. There'll be a chance at the end of the session to ask Claire, Phoebe and Danny your questions.
The session will be recorded and the recording will be available on the On demand page of the CIEP website. Bookings will close at 1pm GMT on 19 March.
The session is free for CIEP members. Non-members can attend for a fee of £20 + VAT. If you’re not currently a member, you’ll need to register for a free account on the CIEP website. Click the ‘Book now’ button to begin the booking process, then select ‘Register’ on the log-in page.
