About Tabitha

If you have finished writing either your fiction or non-fiction book, I would love to help you take it to the next stage in your journey to publication.

My services

Manuscript appraisal (fiction books)

I would look at areas such as point of view, dialogue, plot, structure and theme, in order to produce a written summary on various aspects of your novel.

Developmental edit (fiction books)

This service would include a read through your novel and notes made in the manuscript itself on aspects such as point of view, dialogue, plot, structure and theme.

Copy-edit (fiction and non-fiction books)

Once you are happy with the content of your book, I would check for factual accuracy, consistency, grammar, spelling and punctuation. I would also suggest small changes to improve the flow of your manuscript and mark it up, so that it's ready to be laid out.

Proofread (fiction and non-fiction books)

This is a final check that I can carry out just prior to publishing. I would check spelling, grammar, punctuation, consistency and layout.

My specialisms

Non-fiction: travel and autism - for which I offer copy-editing and proofreading

Fiction: crime, romance and books set in the Nordic countries - for which I offer developmental editing, copy-editing and proofreading.

I'm an avid reader of crime, thrillers, romance and history.

I formerly worked as a travel consultant, planning clients' tailor-made holidays to the Americas and have also travelled independently in Western Europe. I studied in Sweden for a year, as part of my degree in Scandinavian Studies. I'm a fluent speaker of several languages, including Swedish, German and French, with intermediate level Spanish and Dutch.
