How I can help:
I'm an accomplished editor with well over twenty years’ trade publishing experience, both in-house and as a freelance. I'm knowledgeable, collaborative and conscientious in providing the services publishers need.
I specialise in copyediting and proofreading fiction, particularly crime, thriller and mystery, fantasy, historical and literary fiction. I also work in non-fiction, particularly film. Another speciality is fine-tuning translated English or localising US English.
Current clients include Faber & Faber, Canelo and Pan Macmillan.
What they've said:
“As both a copy-editor and a proofreader, Kate has an excellent eye for detail. She’s meticulous, thoughtful and fully engages with the text, and her comments and queries to authors are always written in a professional manner. We hope to continue working with Kate across our imprints at Pan Macmillan and I can't recommend her editorial services highly enough.” — Laura Carr, Managing Editorial Director, Pan Macmillan
“Kate is one of the best copyeditors on our books. She is knowledgeable, extremely thorough, has a great eye for detail, and is an invaluable asset to us. We can’t recommend her highly enough.” — Kit Nevile, Commissioning Editor, Canelo
”I've just been through your edit of my book, and I wanted to thank you for the care and attention to detail you put into it. It means a lot to have someone look so closely at my work, and your thoughts were really constructive.”— Jenny Kleeman, author, The Price of Life
