Session 5 – breakout (running concurrently)
By more fully being our authentic selves in our online presence and with clients, we can make ourselves more memorable, lower our stress levels, and build stronger connections with others. Win-win-win!
In this session, delegates will explore the importance and benefits – both personal and professional – of showing up in our businesses as our whole selves. We’ll discuss how to be real while still being professional – and look at some great examples of people doing both and how it works to increase their credibility, memorability, and approachability. These attributes make your humanity shine in a world of AI-generated content.
We’ll look at practical ways to apply this to our emails, websites, social media posts and directory entries, and leave with ideas and resources we can use straight away to breathe new life into our marketing and relationship-building.
Expect a creative, collaborative session, with a sprinkling of Sherlock GIFs.
Sarah has been a writer, editor and proofreader for 25 years, including 20 years of freelancing. She specialises in working with charities and Christian publishers, and currently divides her time between working in-house for Tearfund (an international development charity) and her freelance work. She’s a Professional Member of the CIEP, enjoys a nice juicy house style guide that reflects the ethos of an organisation, and is firmly #TeamOxfordComma.
Sarah was diagnosed autistic and ADHD in her mid-40s which made a lot of things suddenly make more sense! She brings some of this understanding (and almost certainly some Sherlock GIFs) to her session on the importance and benefits of authenticity in our professional relationships.
