The previous edition of this book was reviewed in CopyRight Sep/Oct 2003, and was edited by Ned Sherrin. This new edition also has a new editor, the well-known Giles Brandreth, giving this book a new flavour. He has added over 1200 new quotations, comprising over a quarter of the whole book, and 50 new themes – this is an aspect of the book that is interesting, 'indexing' the quotations into subjects such as 'divorce' ('It was partially my fault that we got a divorce … I tended to put my wife under a pedestal.' Woody Allen). Apparently also, hundreds of the new ones are by women!
