Mini-conference - South West 2018

South West – Friday 13 July 2018

This one-day mini-conference was held at St Michael’s Centre, North Road, Stoke Gifford, Bristol BS34 8PD, and was organised by Clare Diston and Liz Hammond of the Bristol/Bath SfEP local group.

The mini-conference was mainly for SfEP members based in South West England and South Wales, aimed principally at the following local groups:

• Bristol/Bath
• Cornwall
• Cotswolds
• Devon
• Mid-Somerset
• South Wales/Cardiff
• Three Counties

However, other SfEP members and non-members were also made welcome. The cost of attendance was £40 for members and £67 for non-members (with discounts for members of other organisations).

The programme included sessions on macros, PDF mark-up, how a Word document is turned into a finished book, how publishers select and work with freelancers, a panel discussion on editorial freelancing hints and tips, and a Q&A session with our membership director.

Delegates were awarded two SfEP upgrade points.
