About the   local group

The coordinator of the   local group is .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

The   local group covers the Three Rivers region and meets informally once every two months, alternating between online and in person. Our meetings are a mix of discussions about matters of professional interest plus networking to swap ideas, problems, solutions and contacts – plus inevitably stories of misplaced apostrophes and the like. Members have a wide range of specialist skills and technical competence, so there's usually much to learn from one another.

Our current schedule for in-person meetings is:

  • Spring – informal pub lunch
  • Summer – local trip/activity (in 2023, this was a tour of Hexham Abbey)
  • Winter – Christmas lunch.

We usually meet in or around Newcastle city centre, but we’re always open to new ideas for venues! Our online meetings are informal chats about anything members are interested in or currently dealing with. The group is very friendly and relaxed, and we all love learning from each other and sharing our experiences.
