Local groups: Calendar of events
Page owner: Community director
CIEP members are welcome at all local group events. Those who don't already belong to the Institute are welcome to attend up to three local group meetings before deciding whether to join.
What the groups do varies. Most meet regularly, providing opportunities for passing on knowledge and networking. In addition, they may visit local printers and other relevant venues, have speakers at their meetings and organise training.
In light of the escalating risks associated with COVID-19, the CIEP Council has asked all of its local groups to suspend their in-person activities until further notice.
Unfortunately, this means not only that all forthcoming local group meetings are cancelled with immediate effect, but also that some groups’ plans to mark chartership with a special event are necessarily postponed. We will all look forward to celebrating with renewed enthusiasm once restrictions are lifted.
While the government’s advice at this time stops short of such action, the Council has assessed the risk to its members and believes that this is a prudent step both generally and specifically, given its membership demographics.

Cloud Club and Zoom meetings
Because the CIEP’s Cloud Clubs are virtual groups, these will continue to meet online via Zoom videoconferencing. Other local groups may also wish to meet via Zoom.
Full details of how to participate in a Cloud Club meeting and how to obtain and use the necessary Zoom app can be found on the Cloud Clubs local group page. Those who would like to attend these meetings will need to go to the Cloud Clubs forum to access the necessary link(s) and are also encouraged to let their Cloud Club coordinator know in advance (preferably on the Cloud Clubs forum, but alternatively by email).
