About the 2018 conference

The 29th SfEP conference will be held at Lancaster University on 8–10 September 2018.

The Lancaster University campus occupies a beautiful 560-acre parkland site near Bailrigg, just three miles from Lancaster city centre. The SfEP conference will be held alongside the Society of Indexers’ annual get-together, and although the programmes will be separate there will be some joint events.

Highlights of the programme this year include Lynne Murphy, professor of linguistics at the University of Sussex and author of The Prodigal Tongue: The Love–Hate Relationship Between British and American English, who will be giving the Whitcombe Lecture; workshops and seminars on a range of topics, from editing in various genres to using macros to work more efficiently; and, of course, the gala dinner. You can see the full conference programme by following the link in the Conference information box.

Conference booking is now closed. Session booking opens on 16 July and delegates are asked to request their preferred workshops and seminars by 28 July: follow the links on this page.

Please email the conference director if you have any comments or queries.
