General info
Earth-friendly editor with a passion for politics, the environment, travel, and education; specialising in academic papers, cultures, and smiles. In the 15 years or so that I've been editing I’ve had the privilege of working with top international academics within a range of fields on a range of subjects, including the humanities (history, politics, philosophy, arts and culture); social sciences (ethnic and cultural studies, media), and economics; and even had a bit of fiction thrown in for good measure. I love editing for many reasons, chief among them: authors are interesting, the work is diverse (if nothing else my general knowledge has vastly improved!), and it's good to know that I've had a hand in making something better than it started out.
I like to do refresher courses - usually online - when I have time and I always learn something new. Day workshops are great for the face-to-face interaction with people, but these have been scarce of late. Hopefully, that will change soon.
To relax, I enjoy walking with my dogs exploring new hills and woods, and I have a keen interest in gardening and cooking. My latest interest is languages and I'm considering polishing my scrappy French up to a high enough level for translation.
